So, I've been involved in a couple of makerspaces in the London area and see that there are many different uses for a shared community space that encourages the next generation of making.

What I would love to see in the next generation of RML:

• Technical workshop
  • Electronics Lab
  • Computer 'tinkering' area
  • Laser Cutting
  • 3D Printing
  • Wood & Lightweight Metalwork Shop
• Creative workshop
  • Sewing / knitting machines
  • Space for non-toxic painting / dyeing / forming
• Meeting / Teaching / Incubating Space
  • Flexible space that can be used for incubating new startups
  • Classroom style space that can be used to teach new skills
• Food preparation facility (Not a full-fledged kitchen)
• Administrative / Infrastructure (Power/Gas/Network) room
• Member project storage lockers

I understand the value of having a garage for repairing cars, but car ownership continues to decrease and space needed for 'doing stuff' increases.
